Last Update

We traveled down memory lane and created dodecahedrons with our top 12 favorite fourthie memories! Hopefully they all made it home intact and that the girls cherish them. They worked so hard!

We were fortunate to have a wonderful guest speaker this morning. We heard from a nutritionist this morning on the importance of balanced snacks and meals. The girls got into groups and created healthy meal/snack ideas and loved sharing their creations.

Weekly Wrap up

What a week! Our 23-24 school year is going out with a bang. We have just about 14 school days left and it only felt appropriate with 14 students to fill each balloon with a Minute to Win it challenge. The girls had a blast popping the first 3 this week. I love creating these special moments with the girls as we close out the year.

During reading we have been learning about different podcast styles to help guide an end of book project. This week the girls got in groups to create a podcast of their own. Their focus was taking on the personality of different characters we studied throughout Flora and Ulysses. The brainstorming sheet help to guide them to come up with some Q and As. They were even challenged to create a commercial about a product we heard about throughout the book. Enjoy them below!

We have our final Lower School Outreach project to support the Autism Society of Virginia and especially Mrs. Dorion and her team, Ty's Trot, in honor of her son, Ty. We hope many St. Catherine's families can come out for the race on Saturday, May 18. If not, we hope to raise money for her team!

To raise money, we will have a Read-A-Thon on Monday, May 13 in our classroom. Details are here and the girls were given a pledge sheet. The pledge sheets were due today but can still come in on Monday. We will have a read-on for 40 minutes on Monday and the girls will bring home the number of minutes they read. Money should be sent in next week.
